REScheck for Compliance with the NC Residential Energy Code Workshop: Boone

Event date:
Friday, August 5, 2016 - 9:00am - 12:00pm

This workshop will provide an overview of the NC 2012 Residential Energy Code and give attendees an understanding and hands-on experience with the REScheck software and how to use it for energy code compliance. It will focus specifically on the pathways to compliance. Attendees will learn how to use REScheck to document compliance with the residential energy code and the software’s use in demonstrating the different trade-off options allowed with this compliance option. Building envelope and mechanical systems will be the specific focus of the REScheck training.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop with the REScheck program pre-loaded. We will have a limited number of extra laptops for use during the workshop to maximize the benefits of interactive training.

About REScheck:
REScheck is a free software program developed by the Department of Energy that makes it fast and easy for builders, designers, and contractors to determine whether new homes, additions, and alterations meet the requirements of the NC Energy Code. REScheck also simplifies compliance determinations for building officials, plan checkers, and inspectors by allowing them to quickly determine if a low-rise residence meets the code.
