COMcheck for Compliance with the NC Commercial Energy Code Workshop: Boone

Event date:
Friday, August 5, 2016 - 1:00pm - 4:00pm

This workshop will provide an overview of the NC 2012 Commercial Energy Code and give attendees an understanding of the COMcheck software and how to use it for energy code compliance. It will focus specifically on the pathways to compliance with a close look at the differences between the NC 2012 Commercial Energy Code and the ASHRAE 90.1 2010 compliance options. Attendees will learn how to use COMcheck to document compliance with the commercial energy code and the software’s use in demonstrating building envelope and lighting trade-offs.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a laptop with the COMcheck program pre-loaded. We will have a limited number of extra laptops for use during the workshop to maximize the benefits of interactive training.

About COMcheck:
COMcheck is a free software program developed by the Department of Energy that makes it easy for architects, builders, COMcheckdesigners, and contractors to determine whether new commercial or high-rise residential building, additions, and alterations meet the requirements of the NC Energy Code. COMcheck also simplifies compliance for building officials, plan checkers, and inspectors by allowing them to quickly determine if a building project meets the commercial energy code.
