Welcome to the North Carolina Energy Efficiency Alliance!
The North Carolina Energy Efficiency Alliance is a collective of organizations and businesses working to stimulate the market for energy efficient construction throughout the state.
Funded by a federal grant through the North Carolina State Energy Office, the NCEEA is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating all the various stakeholders in the home building industry about the benefits of ENERGY STAR homes. Alliance members include home energy raters, home builders and renovators, architects and designers, utility providers, real estate brokers, appraisers, and mortgage lenders. These professional members are committed to promoting energy efficiency in their professions and to helping the NCEEA address market barriers in the homebuilding industry. As a result, we hope that the consumer will benefit from a healthier, more comfortable home that is both energy-efficient and affordable to maintain.
Buying A New Home?
We at the NCEEA strongly believe that every home owner should ask for their new home to be built to ENERGY STAR guidelines. Throughout this video we describe the importance of making the ENERGY STAR purchase.
Pre-Construction Best Practices for
ENERGY STAR v3 New Homes
The NCEEA has created a video series to demonstrate the pre-construction best practices that allow a builders, raters, and trade contractors to successfully participate in an ENERGY STAR version 3 new home build. Eight steps are outlined in a timeline format, with additional information provided between the videos that may be used as a checklist for each build.
